Descrizione Opera / Biografia

Through quick, spontaneous strokes and, on occasions, with an abundant load of material – impasto – are highlighted different chromaticisms and geometries forming a composition, in which the main element acquires a great prominence, wrapped in an enveloping atmosphere.
The title of the work thus become the best explanation and description of it, where the purpose lies in transmitting emotions to the observer through a lively, direct, abstract painting loaded with great symbolism.
It is, therefore, about a piece carried out by means of a brief brushstroke and without premeditation, but subjectively reflecting an idea located in the depths of the mind.
G. FUENTETAJA (Spain, 1994)
Fuentetaja learned the technique of oil painting at an nine years old, in a fine arts academy in Segovia (Spain), his hometown, where he was enrolled for several years. He then created paintings for family and friends, while developing the technique as a self-taught artist, exploring different styles.
In November 2019, he decided to create a series of paintings composed of twenty abstract pieces, always giving each work its own meaning. This series, titled ”the twenty oils”, was exhibited at the Backyard art gallery in February 2022.
Following this, he has frequently participated in competitions, awards, and other national and international exhibitions, most notably the International Contemporary Art Fairs in Paris (September 2022), Brussels (November 2022), and Monaco (August 2023).
In the last four years, he has held several solo exhibitions and have been selected 40 works in national painting contests.
Work entitled ”Surveillance” incorporated into the Art Collection of the Courts of Castilla y León (Valladolid, Spain) and located in the parliamentary building. Work titled “Gethsemane” exhibited in the Cathedral of Segovia from 03/24/26 to 06/30/26.
