This dreamlike organ acts as a silent amplifier of the emotions that emerge during sleep: it gathers the subtle sensations of the subconscious, while the twin moons modulate and reflect these inner vibrations, creating a harmonic field of intuition and awareness. The spheres do not hold opposing polarities, but move in perfect synchrony, marking the rhythm of dreams.
Through dreaming, emotions are filtered, amplified, and transformed into language. The Lunar Gland thus becomes a bridge between the unconscious and consciousness, a symbol of introspection, intuition, and that delicate light which illuminates what remains invisible during the day.
Drawing from her anatomical background, Giorgia Roversi reimagines internal organs as vibrant, surreal still lifes filled with color, texture, and symbolism. Her works are not scientific but emotional, using anatomy as a starting point for a shift in perception. She transforms what is typically seen as unsettling into something luminous and engaging, challenging the viewer’s instinct to look away. This transformation becomes a metaphor for accepting the darker, often avoided parts of ourselves. Blending references to classical still life with contemporary digital aesthetics, her work exists between tradition and the hypermodern.
