”Açude (água viva)” é una chiusa, un lago artificiale dell ”interior” del nord-est brasiliano e per me, un luogo dell’infanzia. Anche se artificiale, é un’acqua di pura natura, piena di vita, insetti, animali e un luogo del gioco, una specie di palude. Un’acqua rasa che a volte è specchio brulicante. Cielo, fango, vegetazione si mescolano in una sola sostanza. Acqua che non si muove, ospita, si fa attraversare ed è viva. Piena, la luce ne tocca la superficie fino a farla solo colore.
When he was only six years old, Giuseppe Amorim Esposito (b. 1994, Teresina, Brazil) moved to Livorno, Italy. He currently lives and works in Florence, Italy. Giuseppe studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, obtaining his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Painting with the highest honours. During his studies, he attended Professor Adriano Bimbi’s classes and founded the Aula 23 project with other students. The Aula 23 projects and artistic residencies, which Amorim Esposito organized and also took part in, focused on the themes of landscape and coexistence with hosting communities in various small towns throughout Tuscany. Futhermore, in 2018, the artist created, coordinated and partecipated in a new, similar residency programme in the Northeast of Brazil called Esperantina Pingendi. In 2023, the artist partecipated in the 5th cycle of Paratissima Factory’s residencies in Turin, Italy.
