Man-Wo-Man explores the male–female relationship as an existential polarity embodied in one sculptural configuration. A reclining female body appears exposed and open, while a male figure rises from the same physical continuum — tense, watchful, and almost confrontational. The work does not depict a simple opposition between man and woman, but a field of attraction, dependence, resistance, vulnerability, and desire. It treats the body as the place where intimacy becomes conflict, and conflict still carries the possibility of union.
Tilmann Krumrey is a German figurative sculptor and painter whose work investigates the human body as a carrier of archetypal, psychological, and existential states.
