IT Ogni bambina si chiede: “Da grande diventerò anch’io una bella donna?” Cresce circondata da immagini
lontane: bambole Barbie irrealistiche, cantanti e personaggi dei cartoni animati che sembrano
impeccabili, icone religiose di purezza, donne sublimi o enigmatiche create dagli artisti più famosi del
mondo. E poi c’è la madre: immagine assoluta, intoccabile, perfetta in ogni gesto e in ogni abito. L’opera
racconta il desiderio di una piccola femmina di crescere e la paura di non essere abbastanza, la curiosità
verso il futuro e la vulnerabilità che prende forma nel corpo e nell’identità. Tra ideale e realtà, tra immagine
imposta e identità che nasce – si crea la figura femminile, nell’arte come nella vita.
EN Every little girl asks herself: “When I grow up, will I become a beautiful woman too?” She grows up
surrounded by distant images of unrealistic Barbie dolls, flawless singers and cartoon figures, religious
icons of purity, sublime or enigmatic women created by the world’s most famous artists. And then there is
her mother: an absolute, untouchable image, perfect in every gesture and every dress. The artwork shows
the desire to grow adult and the fear of not being enough, of hope, curiosity and vulnerability taking shape
in the body and in identity. Between ideal and reality, between imposed image and emerging self, a tension
appears — one that shapes the construction of the female figure, in art and in life.
